The Mental Health Committee works to raise awareness on various mental health issues and combat stigma through discussion, events, and proposals for change. Mental health is important and applicable to everyone. Understanding that stigmas exist from respective backgrounds and creating safe spaces for conversation is core to the committee. Normally, mental health is only mentioned when faced with the aftermath of an extreme tragedy or when it becomes convenient to do so. This is why MHC’s advocacy efforts are centered on destigmatizing mental health, connecting students to on and off-campus resources, and relaying feedback and opinion from students to administration. The MHC has and continues to host/partner on events, work on proposals (i.e. Wellness Days Petition), and more. Please reach out to us if you would like to join, discuss initiatives, or just talk!  Email Savannah Majarwitz here or Hope Wei here.
