We are a Boston University student-run campaign created to foster a movement against sexual assault and violence. As 16,000 Strong, we strive to create a safer and united community in which it is clear that sexual harassment and assault will not be tolerated. To achieve our goal, we strive to increase student awareness about sexual assault prevention and work to hold Boston University and its policies to the same moral standard of protecting everyone from the threat of sexual assault.
Representation Oversight Committee:
ROC Seeks to mitigate inequities in representation within our own student government as well as in areas in the unveristy as a whole. We believe that all university decisions should reflect the will of the student body.
Expect More Committee:
The Expect More Committee is a group within Boston University's Student Government legislative branch that greatly emphasizes data for the use of student initiatives. We work with all students and organizations alike to survey the student body and analyze data and advise solutions of the highest quality. If you are interested in joining or need help with information collection/analysis, please feel free to contact us through Instagram @expectmorebu
F.E.A.S.T stands for Food, Equity, Accountability, Sustainability, and Transparency. We‘re working towards the implementation of food diversification and plant-forward options in the BU dining halls. We strive to work as intermediaries between students and administration in order to ensure a dining experience that works for everyone.
Mental Health Committee:
The Mental Health Committee works to raise awareness on various mental health issues and combat stigma through discussions, events, and proposals for change. Mental health is important and applicable to everyone. Understanding that stigmas exist from various backgrounds and creating safe spaces for conversation is core to the committee. Normally, mental health is only mentioned when faced with the aftermath of an extreme tragedy or when it becomes convenient to do so. This is why MHC's advocacy efforts are centered on destigmatizing mental health, connecting students to both on and off-campus resources, and relaying feedback and opinions from students to administration. MHC has and continues to host and partner on events, work on proposals (such as the Wellness Days Petition), and more. For more information, check out our website here. If you would like to join MHC or have an idea for an initiative, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org at any time.
Rules Committee serves to interpret and apply all standing rules, procedures, and by-laws related to
BU Student Government. Our main work is related to advising Senators on any by-laws amendments and proposed resolutions, but we also work with Student Government members from every position.
The Finance Committee is in charge of managing the Senate General Ledger and ensuring budget requests are processed efficiently. In addition to managing the Senate General Ledger, the Finance Committee must gather representation from all sectors of the BU student body and make an annual recommendation for the distribution of the Community Service Fee.
